Introducing The Chief Executive Institute

We are excited to add The Chief Executive Institute to the Foundation’s lineup of scholarship opportunities designed to develop leaders specifically for the Credit Union Movement. The Chief Executive Institute, for which the Foundation has approved more than $70,000 in scholarship funding, is a course designed to help position your credit union for growth and leadership in a complex and ever-changing marketplace.

Through this advanced program, participants will learn how to leverage the Baldrige Excellence Framework to reach strategic goals, improve results, and become more competitive.

So what is the Baldrige Excellence Framework and why is it important?

Simply put, the Baldrige Excellence Framework is a system for organizational excellence. It offers the structure to help transform your credit union into a dynamic, member-centric organization with greater focus on its heart and soul: your mission, vision and values.

The Baldrige framework provides leaders with the knowledge and tools to manage all the components of their credit union as a unified whole. It gives leaders a way to evaluate, develop and change organizational systems and processes – to harness plans, processes, measures, and actions – for maximum value and results.

In other words, it places a proven system to achieve innovation, results, and long-term success at your fingertips.

As credit union leaders with big goals and a strong purpose, isn’t that what we want?

We want to create a culture of innovation that is able to respond to the needs of an ever-changing marketplace. We want steady, stable, responsible growth. We want to make a bigger impact within our community and within the lives of our members. We know what we are about and we believe that Credit Unions are the best option for most individuals and businesses. We know what we want to achieve… it’s the how that gets tricky. That’s what the Baldrige Framework offers – a proven system to help your credit union improve and achieve excellence.

It’s not necessary to reinvent the wheel.

The Baldrige Framework is based on core values and concepts that represent beliefs and behaviors found in high-performing organizations. These include systems perspective, visionary leadership, a focus on the value of people, organizational innovation and agility, and the ethics and transparency that come from embracing social responsibility. Thousands of organizations use the Baldrige Excellence Framework and its Criteria for Performance Excellence to guide their enterprises, improve performance, and get enduring results. They use it, because it works.

“I see the Baldrige process as a powerful set of mechanisms for disciplined people engaged in disciplined thought and taking disciplined action to create great organizations that produce exceptional results.”

—Jim Collins, author of Good to Great
