Every year, the Gary Plank Scholarship Program provides three $5000 scholarships for young Credit Union professionals and volunteers (35 and younger), and one Development Educator of any age, to attend the World Credit Union Conference. And, this year’s conference is in Vienna, Austria!
Named in honor of retired Arizona League President, Gary Plank, the scholarship is a tremendous opportunity for Credit Union leaders to acquire valuable information, network with Credit Union professionals from all over the world, and get inspired by the passion and enthusiasm for the worldwide Credit Union Movement.
“Being in a room with young Credit Union professionals – some in chief executive positions, management positions, operations and back office positions, new staff in branch level positions and even board members – is absolutely brilliant. Every conversation is an opportunity to learn new things, to grab ideas and run with them at home. We all formed such close relationships in just the few days we had together. I consider many of them to not only be valuable professional contacts, but life-long friends.” – Mia Martell, Gary Plank Scholarship recipient, 2016
The World Credit Union Conference offers a unique global focus on improving lives through Credit Unions.
Over 1800 attendees converge to share differing levels of experience, expertise, interests, and goals from all over the world. While they may exemplify unique perspectives and face different challenges and opportunities, all attendees have one thing in common: They are passionate about furthering the Credit Union Movement.
Attendees participate in educational sessions about hot-button topics, teambuilding activities that facilitate growth and decision making, and networking opportunities designed to shift perspectives, challenge the status quo and inspire creative thinking.
